NOVA - A Social Club for women located in Victoria |
We are a group of approximately 100 women who have moved from other locations to settle in the Victoria area. Many of our members either have joined us after being members of the Victoria Women's Newcomers Club or other local organizations. We are open to any woman who wants to attend luncheons with interesting speakers and have opportunities to socialize through activity groups.
We have a variety of activity groups and meet nine times a year at the Union Club of British Columbia in downtown Victoria. We feature accomplished speakers who have published books, run various organizations, researched or created innovations, and provided significant public service in their chosen professions. We look for speakers who can enrich our educational experiences but have also held fun events such as fashion shows and singalongs. One of our frequent speakers is Bob McDonald, host of the CBC radio show, Quirks and Quarks.
This is a list of our Activity Groups to date. We are always looking for convenors who can expand our list of offerings.
Dallas Road Walk, Oak Bay Walk, Butchart Gardens Walk: a chance to exercise in beautiful surroundings with optional coffee/tea afterwards
Lunch Bunch: A group that meets once a month to sample local cuisine at various restaurants
Potluck Lunch: A chance to gather in smaller groups for a monthly potluck lunch
